The Hôtel des Innovations, a modern 4-star business hotel located in the heart of the Marly Innovation Center, just a few minutes from Fribourg, is the largest in the canton and a strategic facility for local economic development. Catering to an international and professional clientele, it combines classic and residential hospitality with 167 accommodations, ranging from standard rooms to apartments with kitchens, to suites featuring saunas and panoramic jacuzzis.
Designed as a hub for business and networking, it offers four modular conference rooms, a gourmet restaurant, and a state-of-the-art fitness area. The building is part of the MIC complex, designed by the architectural firms CCHE and Magizan.
The hotel’s concept stems from the fusion of three principles—the history of the site, hospitality, and innovation—which define its style and identity. Overlooking the Gérine, where a printing mill once stood, the building evokes history through natural materials, warm colors, and references to the landscape, creating a balanced and relaxing atmosphere. The wood paneling, a central feature of the rooms and corridors, ensures material continuity and a pervasive sense of comfort.
The area’s industrial past, linked to Ciba Photochimie/Ilford and photography, is also reinterpreted in a contemporary key: reflective surfaces and metallic filters evoke the theme of vision, multiplying reflections and perspectives.
Finally, innovation is an integral part of the project: cutting-edge technologies optimize energy consumption and enhance comfort, while state-of-the-art materials and a careful study of color ensure elegance, consistency, and quality in every detail.
