DIAPATH HEADQUARTERS

Martinengo, Italy

The project for the new offices and Research & Development spaces of Diapath S.p.A. is set within the company’s historic headquarters as a measured conversion intervention, capable of interpreting contemporary models of scientific work and the advanced office.

The transformation of a portion of the first floor from a production area into executive and R&D spaces becomes an opportunity to define flexible, adaptable environments, conceived as infrastructures open to change. Offices, meeting rooms, laboratories, relaxation areas, and phone booths are arranged in a coherent sequence of spaces designed to foster concentration, collaboration, and well-being.

The intervention acts as a catalyst for a broader process of upgrading the company’s work environments, viewing space as an active tool for growth and innovation. At the heart of the project is the individual: the quality of the work environment becomes a lever to enhance people, support research processes, and build a balance between operational efficiency and the human dimension.

Materiality shapes the project’s identity: the service core, clad in natural heat-treated wood, stands as a central and recognizable element, introduced by warm lighting that enhances its welcoming character. Silk-grey walls define a neutral, sophisticated backdrop capable of highlighting activities and furnishings without visually overpowering them.

Acoustic comfort, light control, and environmental quality guide the design choices, supported by integrated and discreet technological systems such as home automation for lighting management and access control to restricted areas. The result is an advanced yet measured work environment in which architecture, technology, and materials come together to create spaces that support innovation and well-being, laying the foundations for a lasting transformation of the company’s identity.
